Plastering has started

We are getting the hall plastered at last!!

Lifting the windows up and in

All the windows on the back of the house have been replaced with double glazing, instant inreased warmth, the old windows had original very thin 1919 glass.

Fireplace and plastering

Emma has plastered in the doorway that previosuly went from the hall into the dining room. This whole wall will be wallpapered.

Ed has got underway with constructing the fireplace - its level!

This is the height that the mantlepiece will be. The sides still need to be built up to the ceiling but not as far out and the sides at the front will be thicker before the light grey marble fire sourround is placed on and the whole chimney breast is plastered and painted.

Then the log burner will be installed.

New Radiators

The radiators are in and working. This is the tall column rad in the bedroom, identical to the one in the living room. Regular double convectors have been put in the spare room, study and dressing room. the whole second floor is now significants warmer.

New Radiators - 2 days in

Bedroom - rads removed, some pipework done

Study - rad removed, floor up

Living Room - rad disconnected, pipwork in, plaster done

dressing room - rad disconnected, damage repaired, pipes cut

Wall Chasing

This weekend we've been preparing for the plumber to come next week to change 5 radiators. Most of the prep has been in the living and bedrooms. We've cut channels for the new pipework to go in - the old exposed pipework will be removed and tall thin radiators will be fitted over the top.

The Radiators will also be changed in the spare room, study and dressing room.
