Wall Chasing

This weekend we've been preparing for the plumber to come next week to change 5 radiators. Most of the prep has been in the living and bedrooms. We've cut channels for the new pipework to go in - the old exposed pipework will be removed and tall thin radiators will be fitted over the top.

The Radiators will also be changed in the spare room, study and dressing room.

The channel cut in the living room with dog leg to avoid the joist.

No more door......

The gap has been filled with a timber frame and foam insulation. It will be covered with plasterboard before being plastered over and you'll never know there was a door there!

Dining Room - No more door!

We felt with doors into the dining room from the veranda and kitchen, as well as the fact its open into the living room the door into the hall is being blocked in. This also stops door congestion in the hall.
The door is gone and the door frame has been ripped off. All to be replaced with a timber frame, filled in with insulation and clad in plasterboard. Results soon.

Front Door

Emma spent some time cleaning up the front door and re painting it the same very light green as the window frames on the front of the house. Also now with new door furniture - number, letterbox etc

Fireplace - getting there

Having opened up the chimney before Christmas today we got on with taking the whole chimney breast back to the original brickwork - it makes it a lot smaller and therefore the room bigger. next weekend the top will be done as well beofre the fire sourround is put on and the chimney breast is re plastered and the log burner is installed.

The Living Room - Faux Brick Arch - Gone

A thoroughly safisfing Sunday morning spent with a bloster and lump hammer resulted in no more brick arch!

The "after" photo - sorry no "before" photo - we were too keen just to get rid of the arch. Removal opens up the space even more which is great.
